A few words about Colin Grace

Born in the market town of Andover, Hampshire in 1963, I left Harrow Way Comprehensive school at 16 and joined the Royal Navy as a Junior Seaman Radar Operator in 1979.

A 26 year career inthe RN included serving on HM Ships Danae, Brave, Argyll, Campbeltown, Northumberland and Somerset. In between I served on various shore establishments from the Falkland Islands, Northern Ireland and Fleet HQ at Northwood in Middlesex.

On leaving the Royal Navy as a Petty Officer in 2005, I embarked on a second career in the I.T. Sector and currently work as a 2nd Line Support Technician for Flagship Training Ltd at HMS Raleigh.

My interest in photography started back in the early 80's when I purchased a Pentax ME Super. I still have it, though it just gathers dust now. Through the 90's my photography interest died but was resurrected again with the advent of digital. With the purchase of a Nikon D70 DLSR the interest has very nearly turned into an obsession. Just ask my wife.

The main camera I use now is a Nikon D200 and my foremost interest is landscape photography, especially around Dartmoor. I shoot RAW images and process them through Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS2. My photographic ambitions at present include getting published in photographic magazines and gaining my LRPS through the Royal Photographic Society.

Recently married, I live in the South Hams district of Devon on the outskirts of Plymouth with my wife Sue. Other interests include walking, reading and the odd dabble into family history.
